Gale-

I would check to make sure that the FLV file type is a recognized MIME type on the LMS server.
There could also be a possible firewall issue on your end.

Typically with the FLV file - it's set to Progressive download. Once the first part of the movie is loaded into memory - it should kick off.
Having that type of delay indicates that the file is either not being delivered or received properly.

I hope this point you in the right direction.

Mimi-

That's a good question.
This goes back a few versions now, but it sounds like the audio needs to be chopped up into smaller files.

This is a tough one without looking at the file.

I uploaded an FLV Transparency AE file into Captivate. So far so good. Plays lovely. However, when I upload it to the Net Dimensions (EKP) LMS it won't play. Either takes 5 minutes to load, freezes, and gives a "white screen of death". Help!!! Thanks so much.

First of all, I've tried to get my employer to install a nerwer version but so far no luck.

I am creating a demo with Captivate 3.

Each slide separately is correct: timing, audio, hifhlight boxes...

But when I publish, OMG!

The full audio (6 minutes) runs on the first slide (wich has 32 sec audio) and then on slide 2 the audio starts where it's supposed to but goes on an on 'til the end (the full 6 minutes) and on and on...

What is the problem here? I can't figure it out. The audio library is fine, and the sound files associationa also.

Thanks!

Itzel-

Multiple video and audio files are going to be a problem with the current JavaScript/HTML5 that Captivate produces.
I would avoid it until the technology matures.

One video per slide should be just fine.

Shelby-

Take a look at the XML Glossary at www.activeden.net. The have an AS2 and AS3 version.
I have used this for multiple projects.

Place the SWF on the second to last slide in your course.

Use a custom button to jump the user to the Glossary

You will need to copy the button on all your slides.

Use the "Go to last visited slide" action on the Glossary page to send the user back to the course.

That should do it.

Sarah-

Only if you are using a Full Motion Record (FMR) or Video recording in Captivate.
There are some editing features for each that will allow you to trim the front of the clip.

All other videos must be edited in an external program.

Kay-

No.
You can only use Closed Captioning with slide based audio.

Sorry.

Dudley-

I would remove Captivate's default navigation (Skin Editor) and create your own navigation using buttons.
This will give you the control that you are looking for.

Thanks for the demo. We are struggling with conversion to HTML 5. In your experience, how does a Capt. holds up when there are multiple videos or multiple audio files on one screen Does it all fall apart in html 5? Or, what happens if you have a video on each screen? Does it fall apart as well?
